What is live in care?

Live-in care is when a carer lives in your home to help with daily tasks and provide companionship. This type of care ensures constant available assistance for individuals who need it. The goal is to help clients stay safely and comfortably in their own homes, rather than moving into a care home or nursing facility. Live-in care provides continuity that isn't possible with multiple carers coming in shifts.

How much does care cost?

Standard carer rates range from €20 to €25* per hour. A tax relief is available on private home care costs which will reduce your costs. At the standard tax relief rate, the cost will reduce to €16 per hour, and if the majority of the payer's income is taxed at the higher rate (40%), this will drop to just €12 per hour. This cost also includes comprehensive insurance coverage and holiday pay for your carer.

Home Maintenance

Limited mobility or energy can make household chores difficult. Our carers help with cleaning, laundry, and minor tasks, ensuring a safe and comfortable home.

Meal Planning & Prep

Maintaining a balanced diet can be challenging with limited energy or ability, yet it’s vital for health. Our carers help with meal planning, shopping, and cooking, ensuring proper nutrition with ease.

Overnight Assistance

Our carers provide overnight support with routine check-ins and emergency assistance if needed, ensuring clients' safety and families' peace of mind.

Medication Assistance

Ensure medications are taken at the right time and bring the appropriate medication to them. While they can’t perform any medically invasive tasks like injections, they ensure routines are followed correctly to maintain health peace of mind.

How does our live in care work?

Our standard live-in carers provide 8 hours of care per day, with a passive overnight presence, they can be in the home but off duty during the night. Their working hours are flexibly spread throughout the day, aligning with the client’s routine. If an HSE care package is in place, our service works alongside it to enhance overall care coverage.

Generally the carers are present in the home throughout the day in the same manner a family member would be taking care of their loved one.

Our 7 day live-in carers typically work flexible patterns with time off. Secondary carer is assigned at no extra charge to cover rest periods, sick days, or short-notice absences, ensuring continuous, familiar support.

For those needing 24-hour active care, we assign carers working 12-hour shifts, providing round-the-clock assistance, including active care during the night.
